Making noise to support survivors
Reclaim the Night Brisbane are hosting a fundraising concert in West End on 4 October 2014 to raise much-needed funds for support services to survivors of sexual violence.
The 18+ concert will be held at Kurilpa Hall, 174 Boundary Street, West End from 6.00 pm until 12.00 pm and features a line up of local artists, face painting, raffle with food and drinks able to be purchased.
Sexual violence affects 1 in 3 women and 1 in 5 men within their lifetime.
The latest UNICEF report states that 1 in 10 girls under the age of twenty will experience sexual violence; this is approximately 120 million girls world-wide.
Reclaim the Night Brisbane have coordinated this fundraising event as a positive way for residents to band together and raise awareness of this important issue facing our community.
Brisbane artists supporting the fundraiser include TIN, Phil Hancock, Kristy Apps, Love Like Hate, Marville and These Dirty Bones.
Tickets are $15 General Admission (18+) and $20 at the door with all proceeds going towards Brisbane Rape and Incest Survivors Support Centre and Reclaim the Night Brisbane.
