PhD Employment Experience Program
As a Griffith PhD candidate, you can undertake short-term government placements in one of 11 defined projects that will help broaden your work-ready skills base and professional networks, and expand your practical workplace knowledge outside of a research or university setting.
The projects will provide possibilities for you to collaborate in established work teams across government agencies, as well as meet with other participants to share your experiences and interact during placements. You may also be able to have the placement recorded on your Australian Higher Education Graduate Statement (AHEGS) following conferment of your PhD.
You will be expected to work for a period of 20 to 30 working days under supervision of the host organisation – either on a part-time or full-time basis.
To be eligible, you will need to have successfully completed your Confirmation of PhD Candidature at Griffith University and must obtain written support from your PhD supervisor to undertake the placement.
Application deadline
Apply by Friday 28 March, for placements starting to commence on or after 24 April 2014.
