A Musical Tapestry, GUPSA Performance Night at the Conservatorium

On 10 September, GUPSA hosted a performance night, A Musical Tapestry, for coursework students in the Ian Hanger Hall at the Conservatorium.

Kathy Williams-DeVries on clarinet performed together with Greg Hartay-Szabo on virtual pipe organ. Woven around Piazzolla’s Tango Etudes were pieces by Couperin, Smart and Vierne played on a virtual pipe organ with sounds from some of the greatest organs of Europe and even harpsichord. Clarinet and organ came together in a powerful alliance with a Handel Flute Sonata, Massenet Meditation from Thais and some gospel music from contemporary composer James Sclater.
