Know your work rights!

On the 17 October, the Council of International Students Australia hosted a State forum in our South Bank campus. Many international student leaders and advocates joined to learn more about employability and work exploitation.

One of the relevant topics involved knowing your rights at work. The Fair Work Ombudsman website offers a wide variety of tools and information about your work rights, payments, and even it leads you to an app you can download.

Team leaders wanted

GUPSA is partnering with the Uni-Skills Student Transition and Leadership Scheme to provide peer mentoring for coursework postgrad students this year. A number of postgrads have already applied and are being trained to be team leaders for the peer groups. But gaps remain and the the team is looking for more coursework postgrad students to apply. These are paid positions.
