GUPSA at the movies

GUPSA is holding a film night for international postgraduates and friends, from 5pm Thursday 17 October at Nathan campus in N16 0.10. We’ll be showing the classic Australian film from 1994, The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. It won an Academy Award and caused a near riot at the Cannes Film Festival! The film will be introduced by Dr Yorick Smaal, research fellow at the Centre of Excellence in Policing & Security. Yorick will talk about why this is such a significant Australian film both in the context of its time and the changes in Australian culture over the subsequent 20 years.

Date: Thursday 17 October
Time: 5pm for a 5:15 start
Place: N16 0.10

There will be light refreshments available before the film so please RSVP for catering purposes to m.carden@griffith.edu.au.
