Writing Retreats

UPDATE: Due to the rapidly changing environment and the recent announcements from the government and health authorities, the decision has been made to postpone the Writing Retreat UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

The health and well-being of all our participants is our number one priority and we thank you for your understanding

We look forward to seeing you in Trimester 2.

Kind Regards,

GUPSA’s full day writing retreats provide an opportunity to take a day out of your regular schedule and get away to a neutral place in a quiet and supportive environment where, free from distractions, you can commit yourself wholeheartedly to writing. The goal is to assist both HDR students and coursework postgraduate students working on a significant research component as part of their program, with the opportunity to achieve their writing goals or get that step closer. The writing retreats are usually held at the Ecocentre (N68) Nathan campus.

Library Learning Advisors will start off the day with advice and information and EnglishHELP tutors will be available for consultations throughout the day as you are given the opportunity to make the most of this precious writing time. GUPSA will fully cater this event, thus spaces are limited. If you register but can’t make it, kindly let us know so we can give your spot to someone else.

What you need:

  • A clear idea for writing at the retreat
  • Laptop, charging cable
  • Notes, any reading material
  • Extension cord and power board if available
  • Anything else you may need for comfortable writing

Details and registration:
