It’s your money: SSAF
If you were wondering how GUPSA is funded, here’s the story: In 2011, the Australian Parliament passed legislation allowing universities and other higher education providers to charge a fee for student services and amenities of a non-academic nature. Griffith University introduced the so-called Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF) from 1 July 2012. The fee provides funding for student services and amenities of a non-academic nature, such as:
- recreational activities including clubs, societies and campus events
- sporting activities and facilities
- student advocacy
- legal advice
- financial advice
- support for student organisations
- infrastructure for non-academic activities.
Also GUPSA is funded through the SSAF. It’s your money, so we spend it on you! For more information, visit the Griffith University website or click here.
