Iqira Saeed

Hi, my name is Iqira Saeed and it gives me great pleasure to take on the role of Research Officer within GUPSA in 2024.

I am a PhD Candidate at the Griffith Institute for Drug Discovery at Griffith University. My PhD is in the field of Clinical Neuroscience, which aims to better understand the factors contributing to the onset and clinical progression of Parkinson’s Disease progression. My favourite part of my research is the opportunity to interact one-on-one with patients living with Parkinson’s, to better understand the challenges that they face, daily.

As the Research Officer, I hope to bring forward the challenges HDR students are facing during their candidature. To help develop a community network which celebrates the success of students but also lends support in stressful situations. Through this role I wish to make new friends and strengthen my relationship with the Griffith HDR community. Please feel free to reach out to me at any time throughout year.
