Jean Martin

LGBTQI+ Officer

My name is jean and I am a queer artist, living and creating in Meanjin – on the lands of the Turrbal and Jagera People.

Currently undertaking a Doctorate in Visual Arts, researching intergenerational relationships between women and their impact on individual identity through the lens of recorded testimony, expanded documentary and fine art photography.

I am also HDR Representative at the Queensland College of Art, where my hard-working contributions to provide fresh opportunities for the cohort to connect are highly valued. In addition to this I’ve been an active member of the queer sober community for over three years and hold service positions on committees within the SEQ fellowship.

Keeping people connected is my passion, which I believe is the key to a happy and harmonious existence for all. I am dedicated to the people and strive to advocate for what the queer community feels they need in order to achieve this.
